The CentOS Project is a community-driven free software effort focused around the goal of providing a rich base platform for open source communities to build upon. CentoS provides a development framework for cloud providers, the hosting community, and scientific data processing, as a few examples. CentOS works with several ‘upstream’ communities to help them layer and distribute their software more effectively on a platform they can rely on.
ColoAU is proud to offer a public CentOS Mirror free of charge for all.
Ubuntu is a Debian-based Linux operating system and distribution, with Unity as its default desktop environment for personal computers including smartphones in later versions. Ubuntu also runs network servers. The Ubuntu project is publicly committed to the principles of open-source software development; people are encouraged to use free software, study how it works, improve upon it, and distribute it.
